One area where the 50-year-old HST multiple units are still very much in use is Scotland. They run at frequent intervals on the diesel routes to Aberdeen and Inverness. The trains are branded as ‘Inter7City’ by Scotrail because they connect the cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, Perth, Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness. The four-carriage train has just left Aberdeen station and is heading south towards Edinburgh.
