One area where the 50-year-old HST multiple units are still very much in evidence is Scotland. They run at frequent intervals on the diesel lines to Aberdeen and Inverness. The trains are branded as ‘Inter7City’ by Scotrail because they connect the cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, Perth, Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness. At Newmill Pond, we waited for the last northbound HST of the day.
