For around two years, DB operated the IC87 between Stuttgart and Zurich using KISS rolling stock, which had been taken over from Westbahn. These trains, capable of speeds of 200 km/h, were significantly more reliable and punctual than their successors. On one of the last days the KISS trains were in service, the journey continued to Neuhausen, where the train was held up whilst crossing the border.
