The day before my journey home, after a night at our usual hotel in Taza – where, by the third time I’d checked in, I didn’t even have to show my passport – we were drawn once more eastwards to the GM line. The day got off to a start with a locomotive from the DH 370 series. What makes this locomotive special is that it was originally built for freight transport. As a result, these locomotives have a different colour scheme to those from the older series. DH 373 announced its arrival with a deep rumble several minutes before it passed our photography spot.
