On a lovely autumn day, the weather forecast persuaded me to head to Val Bever. The first train of the day was the Bernina Express from Chur. As always, the carriages are hauled by an Allegra, so that there is no need to change locomotives at Pontresina. With the last patches of snow on the ground from this winter’s first snowfall, ABe 8/12 3509 emerges from the wild and romantic Val Bever.
