With the introduction of the new Interregio service in Austria, all locomotive-hauled IC services in the Ennstal valley will be phased out; the only one to remain will be the Transalpin, which connects Graz with Zurich. The Interregio services will be operated by comfortable Desiro ML trains and, later, by Mireo under the Railjet brand. My last chance to photograph the IC hauled by 1144 was on the last day of October. After the IC 515 had crossed paths with the RJ 164 at Haus im Ennstal, the latter headed in my direction. This meant I had only about five minutes to run to the other end of the bend.
