HTR 412 044 / IT-Palizzi Marina

For just under two years now, the new HTR 412 trains manufactured by Hitachi have been operating on the Intercity services between Reggio di Calabria and Lecce and Bari respectively. Since entering service, these trains have been fitted with the new Intercity Giorno design. For the IC 841, which was running as a replacement for the IC 558, I had planned to photograph it on the bend before Palizzi Marina. Amidst typical southern Italian vegetation and with a view of the sea, the hybrid multiple unit rolled towards Villa San Giovanni in diesel mode.
