25 April was the last day on which the entire Hochrheinbahn line between Basel and Erzingen was still in operation without overhead lines. Next year, the entire section will be electrified, and services will then be operated by Mireo and Flirt. Although I’m really looking forward to the new rolling stock, I still made my way to the diesel line to photograph the Traxx with their double-decker carriages. BR 245 006 will be crossing the border into Switzerland in a few minutes’ time.
