The NS’s Nez Cassé locomotives won’t be in service for much longer; they are scheduled to be withdrawn in December 2023. Reason enough to travel to the Netherlands to photograph this locomotive hauling DB’s classic IC carriages. However, the locomotive can only run as far as Bad Bentheim, because the voltage and signalling system change as soon as it crosses the border. From there, a BR 101 takes over the train, and from that point on it no longer looks particularly special.
