For over a year now, the RBDe commuter trains, consisting of two ABt carriages, have been operating on the Spiez–Zweisimmen RE. A train of this type left Spiez just a few moments ago. In theory, these trains are due to be replaced by the new Goldenpass Express in the summer of 2023. However, the new trains cause excessive wear on points on standard-gauge track, meaning they will only operate between Zweisimmen and Montreux.
